HILLA, Iraq (Reuters) - A suicide car bomber killed 27 people and injured 60 Shiite pilgrims from Thursday gathered in Moussayab, 60 km south of Baghdad, was learned from the Iraqi police and staff médical.
The victims came from Karbala where they had celebrated Arbain, which marks the end of forty days of mourning observed to commemorate the death of Imam Ali, son of Muhammad small-and third Shiite imam. They were in transit to the city or northern Iraq .
The Shiite community is often taken to target during the Arbain. The attack occurred Thursday after two weeks of mobilization against the Sunni minority ruled discriminatory policy and pro-Iranian Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki.
